Why Can’t You Sleep?
Have you ever found yourself in bed and unable to sleep? You want to sleep but something is preventing it. Why can’t you sleep?
Are you worried about something?
Is it stress related?
Maybe you’re having health issues?
Could God be trying to get your attention
Its probably D – all of the above. You’re not being able to sleep can make you worry, cause stress and health related issues, as well as God could be trying to get your attention.
This reminds me of the Biblical story found in 1 Samuel 3: 3- 15. Samuel is lying down and can’t sleep. He keeps hearing someone calling his name three times. The scripture says:
‘Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him’
This represents a lot of people God called while they were sleeping who don’t know him yet and his word has not yet been revealed to them.
The Bible says the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few. (Luke 10:2)
What is God’s Remedy for Restlessness?
The Bible says, ‘When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet’. (Proverbs 3:24)
So, why can’t you sleep?
In the Bible story because Samuel didn’t know the Lord, Eli had to tell him how to respond when the Lord calls ‘Speak Lord, for thy servant heareth’. He didn’t say turn on Netflix or open up your computer or drink yourself to sleep.
Eli showed him how to sleep peaceably. It’s God’s remedy for everything. Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead and thou shalt be saved. (Rom 10:9)
Are you ready to sleep peaceably? Is God calling you? Just answer his call,’ Speak Lord, for thy servant heareth’ and your sleep will be sweet.
My prayer for you: May the good Lord bless and keep you in the secret place of the most High; protected in your mind, body and soul with the revelation of how much he loves you and wants you to have sweet sleep in Jesus name!
Luv ya infinity Sister Shelli!
My prayer for you:
Dear heavenly father, may the reader of this message receive how merciful you are to those who surrender themselves wholeheartedly to your son, Jesus Christ. May they be comforted in knowing you are a father to the fatherless and a friend to the friendless. I pray they’ll not focus on their past mistakes even if they were made today, but look up to the hills from whence cometh their help, for their help cometh only from you (Psalms 121:1) in Jesus name! Amen!
